Halloween Parties are fun.
Try some of these recipes which will scare the socks off your party goers!
GREEN GOOOOOOOOOO 

Make LIME JELLO as the instructions on your Jello package reads. After it is set up, use a fork to mash it up really goooooy good. Then add GUMMY WORMS for a gruesome treat for your Halloween Guest. Keep in the fridge until you are ready to serve this Halloween Treat.

BLOOD RED PUNCH ... AND ICE HANDS !!!!!

Add HAWAIIAN FRUIT PUNCH and one 2 LITER GINGER ALE to a large punch bowl. Add the ice to cool ... OOOOoooo about the ICE ... Get a pair of LATEX GLOVES (wash the gloves off really good) then fill with water. Tie off the ends of the gloves and put the gloves in the freezer. When they turn to ice, carefully set them into your punch. EEEOOOooooEEEEooooo how scary looking, a HAND is in your punch bowl !!!!!!!

SPICED ICED PUMPKIN COOKIES

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 cup canned pumpkin
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 recipe Brown Sugar Glaze 
Instructions:
1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat shortening with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.

2. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, and baking soda. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl.

3. Beat in the egg and pumpkin. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour.

4. Drop dough by a rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake cookies in a 375 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until tops seem firm.

5. Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool.

6. Spread cooled cookies with Brown Sugar Glaze. Makes 42 cookies.


Brown Sugar Glaze:
1. In a small saucepan combine 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 3 tablespoons butter, and 1 tablespoon milk. Heat and stir until butter melts.

2. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Nutrition facts per cookie: 109 calories, 6 g total fat (2 g saturated fat), 7 mg cholesterol, 24 mg sodium, 14 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 1 g protein




Orange Ooze

 
 

For a scientific presentation,
pour the ooze into clean
beakers and flasks to serve.

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup orange juice
2 cups orange carbonated beverage
2/3 cup orange carbonated beverage (for each tray)

CINNAMON WALNUTS WITH DEAD RED CINNAMON

INGREDIENTS
2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
3 cups walnuts

PREPARATION
Combine sugar, cream of tartar, cinnamon, water, and light corn syrup. Cook to firm ball stage, 246°. Add walnuts and stir until coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool, separating each walnut.

INGREDIENTS
8 hot dogs
Cheddar cheese slices
canned crescent rolls

PREPARATION
Take each hot dog and split it down the middle, lengthwise almost all the way through. Place a long thick cheese slice down the middle. Separate the crescent dough into triangles and wrap each dog starting with the side opposite the point, starting on one end of the dog and stretching the dough a little to completely cover the hot dog, wrapping the dough around.

Place dogs on a foil lined cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with optional mustard or ketchup.

TEMPTING WITCHES BREW


INGREDIENTS:
4 cups apple juice
1 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
1/2 orange, thinly sliced
1 stick cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
lemon slices for garnish

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer; continue cooking for 10 minutes. Strain and serve in warm mugs. Garnish with lemon slices.
Serves 4 to 6.
CREEPY SNACK MIX WITH STICKS AND STUFF


INGREDIENTS:
4 cups corn cereal squares
2 cans potato sticks, 3 ounces total
1 cup honey-roasted peanuts
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 to 3 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
M & M's
hot and spicey cheetos
hot and spicey popcorn
pumpkin mallow candy


PREPARATION:
Place first 3 ingredients in a 3-quart microwavable bowl or casserole. Combine melted butter and remaining ingredients in a separate bowl, mixing well. Drizzle butter mixture over cereal mixture and toss to coat well.
Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.
It's fun to hide prepackaged small prizes in this for adults. Add after cooking! Watch age levels for children!


Cool completely on paper towels.
Makes 6 cups.
CREAMY MUSHY GOOKY PUMPKIN DIP

INGREDIENTS
2 cups pumpkin puree
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

PREPARATION
Cream together pumpkin and cream cheese. Add in all other ingredients until well blended. Refrigerate overnight. Serve with gingersnaps and graham crackers.

HALLOWEEN WANDS

INGREDIENTS:
long rod pretzels
white dipping chocolate
fall colored sprinkles
wax paper

Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler. Dip the pretzel rod half to three-quarters of the way into the melted chocolate then sprinkle the sprinkles over the wet chocolate. Lay on waxed paper until dry.
Mikey's Favoritest Roastid Punkin Seedz

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Wash the seeds in a colander (removing the worst of the gloop).
Drain them and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh pumpkin seeds
2 tbs butter or 1.5 tbs salad oil
1 tsp salt

Mix all the ingredients into a skillet and stir 3 minutes until all seeds are coated with butter.
Transfer to a cookie sheet (preferably with sides/edges) and bake for 30 minutes @ 250 degrees.
If not roasted enough, bake for additional 15 minutes or until brown.
Remove and place on paper towel. These are best when eaten within 6 hours and besterer when eaten while still warm.

WITCHES WARTS


INGREDIENTS
1/2 package of white melting chocolate
1 package of raisins
Green food coloring
Wax paper
PREPARATION
Melt white chocolate in a double boiler. Add 5 drops of food coloring, mix well. Dip each raison into the chocolate and place on wax paper to cool. I think it works best if you put a few raisons in the chocolate and then take them out one at a time with a spoon.
Smore Eyeballs

INGREDIENTS
1 jar chocolate cake icing
Marshmallows
Mini chocolate chips
Gram crackers

PREPARATION
Spread a heaping helping of chocolate icing on 1/2 a gram cracker. Push two marshmallows into the icing. Dab a little icing on one chocolate chip per marshmallow. Place the chocolate chips on the marshmallows to form the pupils of the eyes. Serve with an extra graham cracker in case someone wants to SMASH the eyeballs!





HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS

Go trick or treating with an adult or a friend. If you do not go with an adult, draw two maps of the route you and   your friends will take. Give one map to your parents and take the other with you.

Wear light-colored clothing

Bring a flashlight along with you.

Walk on sidewalks only. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic.

Cross at intersections only. Don't run from home to home or across streets.

Make sure eyeholes in mask doesn't restrict vision. Take off masks when crossing streets. You may want to use makeup instead of a mask.

Don't eat any treats until your parents have looked at  them first.

Be home at a reasonable time.

Don't enter homes.

If you are approached by a stranger, head to any lighted house and ask them to contact your parents or the police.
