Five Little Pumpkin's Sitting On A Gate

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,
"Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said,
"But we don't care."
The third one said,
"I see witches in the air."
The fourth one said,
"Let's run, and run, and run."
The fifth one said,
"Get ready for some fun."
Then whoosh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Walk Into My Parlor
- by Mary Howitt

"Will you walk into my parlor?"
said the spider to the fly;
"Tis the prettiest little parlor that you ever did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many curious things to show when you are there."
"Oh no, no!" said the little fly,
"to ask me is in vain;
For who goes up your winding stair
can never come down again."

Halloween
- by Mary Jane Carr

Witches flying past on broomsticks,
Black cats leaping here and there,
White-robed spooks on every corner,
Mournful moaning in the air,

Goblins peering out of windows,
Spirit-things that rap and run-
But don't be scared-it's just October,
Having one last hour of fun!

The Wise Old Owl

In the still of the night, when the moon is high,
You can hear the owl's cry.
Too-whit-too-woo; too-whit-too-woo,
I wonder who he's calling?
His two big eyes are open wide,
As he nodes his head from side to side,
He looks so wise and oh! so clever,
I'm sure he'll live for ever and ever.

I wonder why he wakes at night,
And disappeares when it is light,
But I'm sure that he knows best,
When it's time for owls to rest.

Jack-O-Lantern
(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)

I am a pumpkin, big and round.
(Use arms to show size of pumpkin.)
Once upon a time I grew on the ground.
(Point to ground)
Now I have mouth, two eyes, a nose.
(Point to each facial feature)
What are they for, do you suppose?
(finger to forehead--thinking)
When I have a candle inside shining bright
(hold up one finger)
I'll be a jack-o-lantern on Halloween night.
(Thumbs under arms--bragging gesture)

Halloween Is Coming

Halloween is coming,
What will you be?
I might be a pirate
On the deep blue sea.

Halloween is coming,
What will you do?
I might go trick or treating,
How about you?

Halloween is coming,
Who will you meet?
I might meet a princess
Skipping down the street.

Halloween is coming,
What will you wear?
I might wear a blanket
And be a brown bear.

Halloween is coming,
What will you see?
I might see a jack-o-lantern
Winking at me.

Halloween is coming,
What will you be?
It's a SECRET,
So wait and see!
Pumpkin song
(tune: I'm a little teapot)

I'm a little pumpkin
Orange and round.
Here is my stem,
There is the ground.
When I get all cut up,
Don't you shout!
Just open me up
And scoop me out!

Harvest Poem

When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed,
Up jumped the pumpkin,
And this is what he said:

I'm a dingle dangle pumpkin
With a flippy floppy hat.
I can shake my stem like this,
And shake my vine like that.

When all the hens were roosting
And the moon behind a cloud,
Up jumped the pumpkin
And shouted very loud:

I'm a dingle dangle pumpkin........

Cute Halloween Witch
- by Jane Selvaggio

Cute little witch on a handmade broom
She will be celebrating Halloween soon
Her little black kitty rides with her through the sky
The moon shines bright with a twinkle in it's eye
She cannot wait for the candy to appear
Halloween is her favorite time of year
The Little Witch tapped her pumpkin on it's head.
Poof he turned into a cute little black cat.
Just in time for Halloween.
It matched her big black hat.
Candy Corn Poem

Halloween is almost here
goblins and ghosts, oh the fear!
Pumpkins, black cats and witches too,
Bobbing for apples and witches brew.
So jump for joy and sound the horn,
relax and have some candy corn!
